Why do my friends see 0000000000 when I call them from SonicCloud?
This happens because the phone number you gave SonicCloud has not been verified. We don’t want anyone to pretend they are you. It’s easy to fix though! Make sure you have the latest version of SonicCloud (v1.15.0). Then go to “Settings”, tap “Account Info”, tap “Phone Number” and follow the instructions to verify.
How do I Personalize my Hearing?
If you are logging in, simply press “Personalize Your Hearing,”
the top blue button on the screen, to take the “Hearing Assessment.”
From the Dialer Screen:
Simply press the red “Profiles” button on the bottom right of the screen.
Then press “Personalize Your Hearing” on the bottom of the “Profiles”
page (in the green bar) and take the Hearing Assessment!
What happens during the Hearing Assessment?
A suggestion to wear your Earbuds appears.
Press “Start” when the green button appears.
Take the Pre-Screen test to find your hearing category
View a demo of the “Minimum Audibility Threshold” test
Your goal is to find the minimum volume level at which you can hear the beep tones
Complete the Minimum Threshold Test for each ear
The characters represent frequencies, from the baritone Opera Singer
(250Hz) to the very high-pitched Bird (8000Hz)
Now take the “Loudness Evaluation” (aka “Discomfort Level Test”)
This allows us to better shape the corrections to help you with speech understanding.
The goal is to find your level of discomfort with the tones.
It should not be painful, just something you wouldn’t want to
listen to conversation throughout the day.
How do I make calls on SonicCloud?
Just dial the Area Code and Number on the dialer pad.
For example: (323)555-1212. You can also call 9199 or 9200 to listen to
recorded audio and tune to it.

How Granular is SonicCloud?
Incredibly. Thousands of hours of work were poured into what is an endeavor to get you the very best possible personalization.
Make sure you take your hearing assessment in a quiet room.
Our assessment is 5 times more granular than most hearing assessments because it goes all the way down to 1 decibel of accuracy, whereas most assessments only go to 5 decibels. The margin of error for most audiograms is 5 decibels. This means if you have moderate or severe loss you can more finely sculpt your hearing response with SonicCloud.
Also, our hearing assessment includes the loudness level (discomfort) portion which is typically only administered in 10% of cases by audiologists. However, we have found it to be a critical aspect necessary for zeroing in to enhance speech understanding.
Often, with hearing loss, a “straw that breaks the camel’s back” phenomenon applies to getting the best enhancement.
The enhancements seem okay, but then you do several tweaks and suddenly you hit a tipping point and, “AHA!” –you experience the moment where it all coalesces.
This is why you should stick with it when you take the test. So you can achieve that moment where it all clicks—you can hear more clearly, and understand words better, than you ever have, AND it sounds natural at the same time.
Why does it take some time to get set up?
You know that old saying—“There’s no such thing as a free lunch.”
Well it’s true.
If you want to get the very best enhancement for sound that is personalized to your exact hearing fingerprint, you’ll need to put a little elbow grease into it! But the results will be worth the effort!
If we gave you a 1-minute test you might get to make a call sooner, but you wouldn’t have the accuracy. We’re already compressing an hour long Audiologist’s visit into a few minutes. And we’re getting equal to or better results for customization on the phone than if you spent thousands of dollars on hearing aids.
Can SonicCloud help me if I have severe or profound hearing loss?
Yes! We’re the only app out there that tests you for severe or profound loss using our proprietary algorithms.
We start where other apps end. That’s because our co-founder has severe loss and he wanted to create something that would work for others like him.
Why is there tuning during a call if you’ve already taken the Hearing Assessment?
Think of it as a pyramid. Levels of Tuning.
You’ve got your baseline hearing assessment. That gets you 80% of the way there. 80%
might be great.
But for some, it might not be the straw that breaks the camels’ back.
There are mechanical and neural/brain components to hearing as well.
You might be great on the mechanical (the ear), but now we need to zero in on what
your brain is doing.
For example, you might have had hearing loss for longer than someone else who’s hearing
recently deteriorated to your level.
So over time, your brain may have “forgotten” what certain phonemes sound like
compared to someone with more recent loss.
So you need slightly different enhancement…. hence “Advanced Refinement!”
This feature allows you to zero in beyond your baseline assessment to compensate for the
neural component. But that only works for a generalized “voice.”
Now imagine you’re on a live phone call. And you’re talking to your 5-year-old niece with
a squeaky, high pitched voice! Well, you didn’t tune your audio to a recording of your
niece, you did it to a recording of a man or womans’ voice.
Now you can tweak it to work for a voice with a much higher fundamental frequency, like
a child’s voice. And SAVE that profile for the next time you talk to that little darling.
Or modify the audio to work for when your friend is driving in the car or in a noisy
restaurant. Just save “Dan’s car” or “ Le Petit Bistro” and you’re off to the races!
What is Sonic Enhancement ?
Sonic Enhancement allows you to refine your hearing profile beyond the hearing test.
You can select a single phoneme—like “S”, or “P” and surgically target it so you can hear it with crystal clarity.
Then simply listen to played-back audio and see how it jumps into focus!
Can I use the Hearing Curve to reduce background noise?
If you’re hearing a lot of “noise” or “waterfall effect” behind the voice of the person
you’re talking to:
Click on SuperCharge in the Tuning screen during your call.
Slide the leftmost part (the “Richness” section) of your Hearing Curve down.
If that doesn’t help enough, carefully move a little bit to the right of that part of the
curve and slide it down as well.
You should be able to hear the other person’s voice come through more clearly.
To make it even sharper if necessary, raise the part of the curve in the “Clarity”
What else can I do with the Hearing Curve?
First, watch the tutorial video. It’s on the Hearing Curve screen but also in the Tutorials section in
Also, press on the buttons on the bottom of the screen for mini-lessons on how to make the sound
“less muffled”, “less tinny”, “less tunnelly” et.
The Hearing Curve is a powerful tool to both help out in noisy situations and to further tune your
hearing during a call.
Use your baseline profile you created via the Hearing Test.
Then, if you are talking to someone with a high pitched voice, for example, you can modify the
hearing curve to emphasize phonemes in the clarity section. Also, by lowering the curve in the
Richness section you can reduce a “muffled” quality.
What does SonicVolume do?
It’s not just volume!
It also imparts a sense of “openness” to the sound.
Instead of feeling weighed down, the sound is freed!
Try it! You might like it!
What’s the best way to hear well on SonicCloud?
Earbuds, headphones, or Airpods! Why?
Did you know listening through two earbuds increases the perceived volume by 3 to 5 decibels?
That means your brain perceives the sound to be 1.5 to nearly twice as loud, even without any volume boost!
That alone helps you with speech discrimination.
What’s more, the sculpted SonicCloud audio for each ear further enhances your ability to understand speech.
When you understand speech better your brain spends less time trying to FIGURE OUT what’s being said and
more time THINKING ABOUT AND CONSIDERING what’s being said.
That keeps you cognitively engaged and in turn means you spend more time listening to others, increasing the
cycle of engagement.
Why not just use bluetooth connected hearing aids?
But the good ones can easily run $7000-$10,000, not covered by insurance.
It would take you 50 years of SonicCloud subscriptions to arrive at that amount of payment!
And you would have changed your hearing aids numerous times during that time period—the average being
once every 3 to 5 years.
With SonicCloud you can change your profile at any time if your hearing changes. For FREE.
And when we develop new algorithms—like Noise Reduction, Stereo, and Frequency Domain Processing
—you will have immediate access to them and can drop them right into your profile—no need to buy new hardware!
